New Player Registration

NEW TO HOCKEY?

NEW players just starting hockey or registering in Minor Hockey for the first time will require a Respect in Sport Certificate and a Hockey Canada ID.

There has been a change to how HCR Profiles (numbers) are created for new participants who have NEVER registered in a Hockey Canada sanctioned program before.   It is important to note that HCR Profiles will no longer be created through Respect in Sport.  New Participants will be required to enter their HCR number in to Respect Group when they sign up for certification.

For participants who have never been registered in a Hockey Canada sanctioned program before the registration flow will look like this:

  1. Create a Spordle Account
  2. Create HCR Profile
  3. Complete Respect in Sport Certification and provide HCR number to Respect Group during that process to ensure the completed certification is showing in HCR (Remember the requirement is that RIS Certification is SHOWING in HCR)
  4. Register with OMHA

Respect in Sport Parent Certificate (RIS)

A parent/guardian must complete the RIS Parent Certificate online before their player(s) can receive a Hockey Canada ID (HCR #).

The certificate is valid for 4 years with a May 1st expiry date.

Takes approximately 30 minutes to complete online.
